FIPPOA held it Spring Community Meeting where Henry Robin told the story of how the Pines and other east end communities went from no response from the Army Corp to achieving an emergency project this fall to repair the multi-storm devastated beaches.
Henry recognized many people from within the community and elected officials and government agencies who came together in partnership to make this happen.
Henry’s beach story culminated when approximately 20 people, including Brookhaven Town Councilman Neil Foley and FINS Superintendent Alex Romero came to the stage to a rousing two-minute standing ovation from the standing-room-only crowd.
The Pines Care Center opened the season with a party at Whyte Hall. They honored Elinor Gum, the Pines Liquor Shop Boys, the Shraeder family of Pines Pantry and Henry Robin.
On Saturday, June 1, FIPPOA dedicated 16 new LGBTQ+ trailblazers who were honored at Trailblazers Park. The unveiling of the commemorative flags began at noon in the harbor followed by a celebration and panel discussion with several of the living trailblazers at Whyte Hall.
Also at Whyte Hall, Seth Sikes and Nicolas King were a smash hit, performing songs from MGM musicals.
