In other pockets of Fire Island, other parades take place on the Fourth of July, often with more homespun appeal. Children on wagon floats take center stage—a tradition that has been happening on Fire Island for over a century! Such communities include Davis Park and Ocean Beach, with parades in Saltaire and Kismet to follow later in the month.
