A Summer Tour of Long Island History: The Big Duck: A Long Island Landmark with Susan Van-Scoy

July 9, 2020 @ 4:00 pm - 4:40 pm

The great American poet Walt Whitman once wrote about a trip he took across Long Island. From the old dutch towns of Brooklyn, all the way to a fish fry at Montauk Point. At each stop, Walt reflected on the past and present of the places he saw, and shared his thoughts with his readers.

This summer, Brentwood Public Library will be following in his footsteps. A series of live, free, online lectures will highlight our Summer Tour of Long Island History. Each week, authors and historians will be our guides. Sharing stories you have never heard about our island, its towns, our legends and our landmarks.

Sign-up to join us every Thursday at 4:00 pm have the chance to ask questions, make discoveries, and share memories of your own. All are welcome!
