Horseshoe Crab Monitoring with CCE and NYSDEC ~ “Community Science LI” 2021 Monthly Webinar Series

In this webinar, Catherine Fede (NYS Dept of Environmental Conservation) and Matthew Sclafani (Cornell Cooperative Extension) will discuss the important role horseshoe crabs play in the ecosystem and in human health, and how people can get involved in CCE’s volunteer effort to monitor this species in LI shores.

Researcher Justin Bopp of Stony Brook University will discuss how he uses monitoring data to better understand juvenile horseshoe crab populations.

The Community Science LI series is presented by Seatuck Environmental Association in partnership with Long Island Sound Study, Seagrant, South Shore Estuary Reserve, and Peconic Estuary Partnership.
