August 2 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Learn everything you ever wanted to know about growing ornamental and fruit trees on Long Island from an ISA certified arborist, NYS Agricultural Inspector, and adjunct professor at Suffolk County Community College. This three-part part series we will discuss:

• Soil amending – including Biochar and Green Sand, as well as choosing the best a trees for your needs, how to avoid problem plants, and a review of current tree issues on Long Island.
• Get pointers for selecting small ornamental trees for yards, planters, shade and sun conditions; how to attract beneficial insects and birds; and create an oasis for all to enjoy.

• Fruit Trees – learn to grow and harvest your own fruit! Find out which trees need a cross pollinator and a vine that is worth the mention, as well as a special mention about the instructor’s favorite – the Pawpaw tree.

There will be a Q&A period at the end of each presentation
