Back by popular demand, historic performance artist Joseph Smith, returns as Augustin Fresnel, inventor of the Fresnel lens that transformed “lighthouse technology forever, illuminating the seas, saving lives and creating new light in new venues yet to come,” as well as portraying other characters of Long Island’s local history. This year Smith has expended his lecture series to include Shinnecock Lighthouse as well as Horton Point and Montauk, and of course our own Fire Island Lighthouse.

This virtual class meet every Thursday for four weeks beginning September 30, from 7 – 8 p.m.

A $20 is required to participate in this class, email smccollum@fi.k12.ny.us for more information or see link to registration form below.
