Whales, dolphins, and seals, Oh my! ~ Fire Island School Adult Education Program

July 6 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Coastal Research and Education Society of Long Island

Did you know that the waters of Long Island are home to marine mammals for 12 months a year? Become familiar with the marine mammals that live in NY waters and beyond. Find out where they can be seen and how to observe and photograph in the wild without disturbing them. Understand the threats they’ve overcome, as well as the ones that are still critically in need of solutions. Hear it from an expert with 34 years of experience. The world of whales, dolphins, porpoises, and ‘true’ seals is there for you to explore. Finally, learn how you become trained participants in the citizen science studies run by Dr. Artie Kopelman and the Coastal Research and Education Society of Long Island (CRESLI).

Arthur H. Kopelman, PhD, CRESLI
