The series will begin Sunday, January 9th at Heckscher State Park. Additional runs will be held January 9th at Heckscher State Park, January 16th at Robert Moses State Park, January 23rd at Sunken Meadow and January 30th at Jones Beach State Park. All races are themed, 5K in length, and will start at 11 a.m.

Meet folklorist Nancy Solomon, Executive Director of Long Island Traditions as she discusses her new book "Boat Builders and Boat Yards of Long Island: A Tribute to Tradition" published by The History Press. Her presentation will discuss the traditions of Long Island's boat building industry from a contemporary perspective, sharing the stories she collected from traditional boat builders and boat yard managers in the region over a course of decades.
