Stony Brook University graduate, Taylor Larson was recently appointed to serve on the Islip Town Environmental Council (ITEC) by Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and the Town Board. The vote was passed at the March 14, 2023 Town Board Meeting held at Islip Town Hall.
Taylor comes Magna Cum Laude from Stony Brook University with a B.A. in Environmental Humanities, and currently works as an Environmental Scientist/Field Technician for Preferred Environmental Services. Ms. Larson previously served the Seatuck Environmental Association in many capacities, including as an Environmental Educator. She was also Vice President for the Stony Brook Environmental Club, and interned with the Suffolk County Water Authority.
“Taylor is a bright young scientist whose already impressive resume as an environmental advocate, educator and investigator, will greatly benefit the Town as a member of the Islip Environmental Council. Her skills and knowledge in sustainability will be a boon to ongoing efforts for land preservation and the keeping of quality of life for Islip residents,” said Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
Taylor Larson specializes in projects requiring environmental monitoring, site investigation and assessment, contamination delineation, and remediation of commercial, industrial and residential properties. She will serve ITEC for a two-year term, from March 2023 to March 2025.
