Emma Dean Stahl received a Girl Scout Gold Award for her beautification project at Edwin Boogertman Memorial Park on Division Ave. in West Sayville. Emma’s project included clearing the grounds, a new garden box and new plantings.
The park was named in honor of longtime West Sayville resident, and former Islip Town official, Edwin Boogertman (1926-1997). The park was dedicated in his honor in 2012.
“On behalf of the Town Board, we extend a heartfelt appreciation to Emma for her hard work to beautify this Memorial Park and congratulate her on achieving the highest honor in Girl Scouts,” said Islip Supervisor, Angie Carpenter.
