By Leonard FeigenblattOn Friday, June 12 Cheyenne Jackson appeared in concert at The Town Hall. In his great singing voice he sang a wide range of songs from pop, rock and many Broadway standards. Highlights included: “Old Devil Moon” from the musical “Finian’s Rainbow,” in which Cheyenne starred on Broadway; a medley of Elvis Presley hits; and Lady Gaga’s “Edge of Glory.” In between songs, Cheyenne spoke candidly about the tough time he has had over the last few years. He spoke of becoming sober, his divorce, and his happiness in his new marriage, to the man of his dreams, Jason.Tony Award Winner, Laura Benanti was Cheyenne’s special guest. Sitting on the edge of the stage she sang an A cappella version of “A Quiet Thing.” Laura looked stunning, but seemed wasted. If she was going to show up, why not come out at the end and do a duet with Cheyenne? All in all, it was a lovely evening of music. While this magical night has come and gone, The Town Hall will present “Broadway Rising Stars” on Monday July 13 at 8:00 p.m. and “Broadway Unplugged” the following Monday, July 20, also at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at the Town Hall Box Office Monday-Saturday, noon to 6 p.m., 212-997-6661. Tickets may also be purchased online through ticketmaster.com.
